Telegram is releasing a major update that will bring a ton of new features to the messaging app.
The new update brings Payments 2.0 for all Telegram chats, Scheduling and Mini Profiles for Voice Chats, new Telegram apps for your browser, update to Android UI and improvements to the photos and video viewer within the app and more.
“We first added support for payments in 2017. Payment bots allowed users to securely pay for goods and services without leaving the app — anything from ordering a pizza to hailing a taxi, to replacing winter tires when you’re tired of winter,” Telegram said in a blogpost.
The new update also brings an auto-delete timer for messages in any chat, as well as new flexible invite links and faster access to your chats.
Telegram Payments 2.0:-
This feature will allow Telegram users to make payments to merchants using credit cards. Telegram claims it doesn’t takes any commission and stores no users’ payment information, so transactions made using the app are safe.
It also lets buyers add tips for delivery, etc., and payments can be made through any Telegram app — even the Web apps
This option can be done via third-party apps in 200 countries, including India.
Telegram Voice Chats 2.0:-
Admins of groups and channels can now schedule a Voice Chat for a particular date and time instead of creating one right away.
Admins can schedule a Voice Chat from their Group or Channel’s profile page.
On Android, tap on more (represented by three dots) > Start Voice chat > Schedule Voice Chat.
On iOS, tap the Voice Chat button and select Schedule Voice Chat.
Users can easily set their Mini Profile by selecting their profile pictures and bios without leaving the voice chat.

WebK and WebZ:-
The new web versions are now available to use with features such as dark mode, animated stickers, chat folders and more.
Telegram says the new web versions are accessible via both desktop or mobile.
Improved Video Player:-
Telegram now lets users expand and zoom into media directly from the chat without having to open it in the media viewer.
iOS users can now fast forward or rewind videos by clicking on + or - buttons to skip 15 seconds.
Android users, on the other hand, can press and hold on either side of the screen to do the same. Alternatively, users can double tap to jump 10 seconds in either direction.
Telegram has started rolling out a new update for both iOS and Android apps in India. The smartphone owners must ensure they are using the latest version of the app to enjoy all the new features.
