Instagram is Introducing a New Insights for Reels and Live for business accounts and creators

Reels will get metrics that show Plays, Accounts Reached, Likes, Comments, Saves, and Shares.

Instagram is rolling out an several updates aimed at creators and businesses which will introduce insights for Instagram Reels and IG Live.

The Company has announced about the new Insight tool for Reels and Live through the platform’s Business blog.

“Based on feedback from creators and businesses, today we’re launching insights for Reels and Live. We have been inspired by the ways our community has embraced these content formats and want to make sure creators and businesses can understand how their content is performing,” as explained by Instagram.

How to see Instagram Insights?

Reels will get metrics that show Plays, Accounts Reached, Likes, Comments, Saves, and Shares.

Live will get metrics that shows Accounts Reached, Peak Concurrent Viewers, Comments, and Shares.

All these metrics will also be shown under Account Insights to provide a better picture as to how Reels and Live can help an account grow.

Users can access Account Insights by heading to Profile > hamburger icon > Insights.
Instagram’s adding these new elements into its Account Insights overview “to provide a broader picture into how Reels and Live shape an account’s performance over time”.

Its a significant expansion for Instagram’s insights data, which will provide a heap of new information for Instagram business and creator account holders to process.

Over the coming months, the company has rolling out new preset time frame options in Insights, expanding beyond the last 7 and 30 days.

The Facebook-owned app is also introducing detailed information about Reach through a new tab in Account Insights.

The Company has built new breakdowns that provide transparency into which types of accounts you’re reaching and which content formats are the most effective at driving Reach.

The Company is believing that Insights are a critical resource for creators and businesses looking to grow their audience and engage their followers.

Instagram also announced that it will support Insights on desktop sometime in the future alongside developing the tool throughout this year.
